Eberspächer will join the ATMOsphere MAC Summit 2026 x TU Berlin on September 29 at the DoubleTree by Hilton Brussels City in Belgium. Organized in partnership with Technische Universität Berlin, the event brings together manufacturers, suppliers and researchers to discuss natural refrigerants in mobile air conditioning, heat pumps and transport refrigeration.

The program explores the use of CO₂ and propane across different vehicle segments, connecting research and technology trends with practical applications. For the bus and coach sector, it offers an opportunity to exchange expertise on the development of thermal management solutions using natural refrigerants.

Marcel Knipps, Development Engineer at Eberspächer Sütrak, will present “Safe and efficient use of R290 on buses” as part of the Technology case studies session, including the advantages of propane for bus air-conditioning in warmer climates.

From September 22 to 24, 2026, Eberspächer will showcase its latest thermal management solutions at FIAA, the international trade fair for buses and coaches in Madrid. Visitors can find Eberspächer at Booth A12B in Hall 9 at IFEMA MADRID.

At FIAA 2026, visitors will learn how efficient climate control, alternative refrigerants, and digital services can support the evolving needs of bus fleets. The focus of the exhibition will be on flexible climate control solutions that can be adapted to different vehicle and powertrain concepts. 
During your visit, you’ll gain concrete insights into our technologies: At the booth, we’ll be displaying a model of the AC135 so you can get a firsthand look at its features and discuss potential applications with our experts.

The AC135 platform is available for both conventionally and electrically powered buses. It impresses with high cooling capacity as well as a compact, lightweight, and service-friendly design. In addition, Eberspächer will introduce the e-Power Unit and explain how the electric AC135 can also be integrated into diesel buses.

Another key focus is e-connected, the digital platform for bus and fleet management. Real-time monitoring, remote diagnostics, and smart notifications help operators identify potential problems early on, minimize unplanned downtime, and reduce maintenance costs.

Eberspächer is presenting its thermal management solutions for bus and coach applications at PRAWAAS 5.0, taking place until July 11, 2026, at the Helipad Exhibition Centre in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. Visitors can find Eberspächer at Booth 104 in Hall 1. 

The event brings together stakeholders from across the mobility ecosystem to discuss how public transportation can become more climate-conscious and future-ready. As part of this transformation, efficient heating and cooling solutions play an important role in supporting reliable vehicle operation and passenger comfort. 

At the exhibition, Eberspächer is showcasing solutions for different bus and coach segments. The portfolio includes the AC135 product platform with all-electric variants for electric city buses, coaches and midi-buses, as well as the conventional high-performance HVAC system for diesel buses and coaches up to 15 meters in length. Battery Cooling System and Traction Cooling System solutions further support the efficient operation of electric buses.

As part of the electrification of Esslingen’s public transport, our AC135-230 roof-mounted air-conditioner will be used in a total of 52 new Škoda battery trolleybuses. The project highlights the importance of efficient thermal management solutions for sustainable mobility while combining innovative vehicle technology with a forward-looking public transport concept.

The City of Esslingen aims to operate its public transport network with zero local emissions by the end of 2026. The new Škoda buses combine operation via the existing overhead power line network with battery-electric drive, enabling flexible operation even on routes without contact wires.

Our AC135-230 ensures a comfortable climate inside the passenger compartment. The compact roof-mounted air-conditioner delivers high cooling (30kW) and heating (35kW) performance while requiring only minimal roof space – a key advantage for trolleybuses, where available roof space must be used efficiently. Featuring a separately mounted electric compressor and a design optimized for electrified vehicles, the system contributes to efficient and reliable operation in daily public transport service. 

The project demonstrates how modern thermal management systems make an important contribution to the successful electrification of public transport. We are proud that our climate control technology is part of this forward-looking mobility project in Esslingen.

Unplanned downtime drains operator budgets and disrupts schedules. The e-connected platform tackles this by monitoring vehicle systems in real time and transmitting data to the cloud for continuous analysis. This enables operators to catch problems early – before they escalate into costly failures.

Two real-world cases illustrate the difference. A blocked condenser fan in Hungary was flagged through rising temperatures, allowing a quick repair before a system failure. A refrigerant leak in Dubai was spotted early, preventing major damage and extended downtime.

By shifting from reactive repairs to planned maintenance, operators gain greater fleet reliability while reducing operational costs. E-connected provides the visibility and control operators need directly at their fingertips.

Most bus air-conditioning systems still rely on synthetic refrigerants with a global warming potential (GWP) of up to 2,088. At the same time, upcoming PFAS regulations are increasing the pressure to act.

At BUS2BUS 2026, Kuno Zeller, Head of Development as well as Steffen Colditz and Marco Pacholke from DB Regio shared insights into a pilot project that proves what is already possible in real-world operation.

Since 2025, Germany’s largest bus fleet operator has been using our e-Power Unit – enabling the use of environmentally friendly propane (R290) as a refrigerant in diesel buses for the first time. 
This milestone was made possible through strong collaboration. A generator supplied by HYDAC Group / ENGIRO GmbH delivers the required electrical power to operate an electric compressor. 
Omnibus Elektroniks & Service GmbH ensured the professional vehicle installation. We designed the propane-based air-conditioning unit with a direct refrigerant circuit without additional heat exchangers – reducing components and weight, as well as minimizing energy losses.
